PE on rainy days

Hi Everyone! Just a quick note about PE days and the rain. On Wednesdays for Mrs. Hanson’s class & on Fridays for Mrs. Welch’s class, boys and girls have PE with Mr. Plaisted at Weatherbee school. This means that children will walk to the gym at Weatherbee and need to dressed for the outside conditions. If it is a rainy day or if rain is in the forecast, can you please be sure to send your child with a jacket. We will address winter weather when it arrives. Thanks so much!

Curriculum Night

Our school Curriculum Night is Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30.  Students and parents are welcome to visit the classroom and see the learning that has taken place since school started.  The PTO is sponsoring a book fair in the gym.  Books will be for sale from 5:00 – 7:00.  The PTO is also doing a fundraiser called Drive for the Kids where parents can test drive a car and earn money for our school.

Math – Shapes!

This week we will be learning about shapes.  Students are familiar with and know: circle, triangle, rectangle, and square.  We will review these basic shapes and begin to learn some new shapes: rhombus, hexagon and trapezoid.

At the end of last week we began math stations.  Math stations are designed to give students an opportunity to practice early number skills.  Throughout the year new activities will be introduced to provide meaningful practice with different math concepts.
